Portsmouth based artist Sadie Tierney\u2019s solo<\/pre>\n
exhibition Tide & Time is currently at\u00a0Play Dead Gallery<\/pre>\n
in Southsea until March 25 2016.<\/pre>\n

\"\"<\/a>\n\nTide & Time\n\nIn this new show of paintings, drawings and hand<\/pre>\n
made prints, Tierney takes inspiration from<\/pre>\n
the changing seascapes that surround the island<\/pre>\n
city of Portsmouth. Contemporary renditions of<\/pre>\n
steel ships, rollercoasters & other structures are<\/pre>\n
set against the sea and sky. Although working from<\/pre>\n
life, the artist is less concerned with accurate<\/pre>\n
depiction of objects, and more interested in<\/pre>\n
describing visual sensation & experience through<\/pre>\n
celebratory use of colour & line.<\/pre>\n

<\/pre>\n
Included in the works made for the exhibition is<\/pre>\n
an edition of hand made screen prints, made available<\/pre>\n
here for the first time. In addition Tierney has made<\/pre>\n
a large painting of HMS Warrior\u00a0on the wall adjoining<\/pre>\n
the gallery, which will remain in situ until the end<\/pre>\n
of the exhibition on March 25th.<\/pre>\n
