D-Day, 70 years ago today.
Here’s a lithograph I made after I visited Arromanches recently.
Many of these large concrete structures were made in Portsmouth where I live, and towed to France to be used as Mulberry Harbours. “Arrow” was the code name for the port at Arromanches and “Golden” was a reference to the Gold Beach sector.
