Arromanches Lithograph

June 5th, 2014

D-Day, 70 years ago today.

Here’s a lithograph I made after I visited Arromanches recently.

Many of these large concrete structures were made in Portsmouth where I live, and towed to France to be used as Mulberry Harbours. “Arrow” was the code name for the port at Arromanches and “Golden” was a reference to the Gold Beach sector.

“Golden Arrow”
28 x 36 cm, hand printed on Somerset Satin paper, in an edition of 15.
