Beyond Dickens Exhibition

…of Artist’s Books inspired by the works of Charles Dickens opens this evening in the Gallery above Southsea Library, 19-21 Palmeston Road, Portsmouth. Private View: Thursday 11th October, 5-7pm  Mon 8th Oct – Fri 2nd Nov (Mon-Sun 11am – 4pm)   The exhibition is curated by Portsmouth University Illustration Department.

… making an artist’s book for a show Beyond Dickens curated by Ros Simms from Portsmouth University. The brief is to respond to a book by Charles Dickens – I chose “the Chimes” – written and published in 1844 – the same year as my star wheel etching press was made!
